The products must pass CE certification and have CE mark on them before they can be sold in EU market. Otherwise, it will be investigated and punished, and it will be recalled and fined.

According to the new EU framework resolution 768 / 2008 / EC, the red directive also clearly defines the responsibilities of manufacturers, importers, distributors and EU representatives. The name of the manufacturer and importer and the addressable address must be identified on the product or on the accompanying instructions.
